A town with history since 13th century
This ancient town is situated just a few kilometres from the Austrian border. The first written mention of Kaplice dates back to 1257.
The town of České Velenice is situated on the southern border with Austria, about 30 kilometres from the spa town of Třeboň. During World War II, it was a part of the neighbouring Austrian town of Gmünd. Even today, the connection of both towns is very narrow, both in the field of cooperation and in neighbouring relations. Many of the 3.5 thousand inhabitants work in the zone of Industrial Park České Velenice, in companies such as Magna Cartech, Kinshofer etc.
The city of České Budějovice is the capital of South Bohemia Region. It has 94,000 inhabitants. The population ranks it at the eighth place in the population in the Czech Republic. It is situated at the confluence of the Vltava and Malše rivers, on the area of 56 square kilometres, surrounded by beautiful countryside.
A town for the health of body and soul.
The beautiful town of Třeboň is located in the picturesque South Bohemian countryside dotted with ponds and laced with ribbons of rivers and streams. Its origins date from the mid-12th century, and its architecture, valuable history and natural beauty are some of its attractions.
Tábor is the second largest town in South Bohemia. Its population is 34 thousand. The history of the town is integrally connected with a significant chapter of European history – the Hussite Movement. In 1420 Hussites, led by Jan Žižka, established a fortified military camp in this place and set off for their campaigns from there. Tábor has undergone a number of changes during centuries, but traces of its medieval history are to be found all over the historical centre. The famous times are commemorated by remains of town walls, an intricate labyrinth of underground corridors and one remaining tower of the original castle Kotnov with adjoining Bechyně Gate. The historical centre of the town boasting a unique street layout and a number of valuable buildings is listed.
